i have a 2004 mercury 90 outboard and i was wondering what i might be able to do to get more top end speed out of it. its on an 18 wareagle aluminum bass boat and it will run about 45mph. does anyone have any suggestions?

"Robet, If the wide open RPM is at or near the maunfacturer's suggested max RPM, you are propped correctly. If it is low, you need a prop with less pitch. If the RPM is high, you need a prop with more pitch. After you have the correct prop, adjust the trim angle of the motor. More trim means more speed, until the prop blows out. Also, the antiventilation plate should be even or up to 1" above the bottom of the boat, for best performance."
