"Well, boating season is now upon us in the North East. Anyway, on my shake down cruise I found my boat didn't sound right and wouldn't make rpm's. Upon throttleing back I found it wouldn't idle. Back at the dock I opened the carb and cleaned out a bit of debris. I then removed my Racor and my engine mounted filters and found the Racor to be filled with tons of "junk". The fuel was brown in color. It looks more like something that came out of a holding tank. Left the "junk" in a bucket for a while. Seperated nicely into 2 layers-like a lava lamp. So much for all the fuel stabilizer I put in 5 months ago. Now how do I get rid of 100 gallons of fuel?"

"Ethanol fuel, I bet! It loosens up the crud that was happily sitting there for years since it's a different solvent.

Buy a bunch of filters and keep changing them until the mess goes away. I had to change the filters several times on mine when ethanol arrived.

"Guess the best thing is for you to put in E-ZORB in your home page search and go down to the heading about ethanol.Tells you all.We took some fuel from 4 different boats last summer as a test and it pretty much did as it says it will.You could see the fuel was in layers with other products, where as with this it was like it made the fuel all the same and guess captured the water and material that it created from cleaning the tank and lines.Last springs entry I put new filters on my 91 Carver that has aluminum tanks and switched them out again after about 10 hrs.Found lots of material and some water.Switched again mid August and much less contaminates.Changed again 3 days ago after running engines half an hour and another winter and very little material or water to be found.Very happy knowing my tanks should be clean,waterless, and fuel systems a go, until next fill up at a marina that polutes me.hahaha.Starting to see a lot of threads here about fuel problems.People need to buy filters to get these older fuel tanks under control.Then they will be good to go.Sure they are not cheap,but nothing in boating is and running a lean engine or not getting back very well has a price to it as well.I put some of this in every fill-up and no problems.Not a single boat with this in our marina had an issue last year either.Call em as I see em....Todd"
