more 35 trouble

my 76 35 hp is giving me trouble loosing spark in one cylinder intermittantly. also quits pumping water after running for awhile. Checked for blockages and put in new impeller. never seen this before. Anyone help me with these. Thanks

A blown head gasket can cause overheating.

It has run a long time without overheating. I dont let it run long enough when it quits pumping.

You say " its quits pumping "----------And are you sure it is just not the tell tale fitting that plugs up ??----------The pump itself rarely stops and starts pumping on it's own.

I'm sure its clear. took it off. water came out of hose for awhile then quit. Did it on a hose as well as on the boat in the water. Old impeller wasn't that bad when i removed it. seen much worse ones move water better. Thought new impeller would fix it. Same thing. I get all the strange stuff.
