"I noticed that the hose that connects to the airbox on my aq 151 is blowing air that is very humid, steamy and even a couple drops of water. I know I have some holes in my exhaust manifold which I am going to replace. Could this be the cause? What is the function of that hose? where does it come from? I only plan on using the boat one more time this season. Can I just leave it off the air box?"

"If you are referring to hose

"If you are referring to hose 35, this is a vent from the crankcase to relieve blowby gas that may be leaking from the cylinders. It goes to the carb so that the gases are being burnt. If there is steam/water showing up, this means there is moisture in the crankcase. That moisture could be from a water leak from the head or block, or some other causes.

Personally, I would run the boat one more day as is, and afterwards investigate the origin of the moisture."

could the hole in the exhaust

could the hole in the exhaust manifold be the cause? is it possible for raw water to enter the head and possibly a cylinder via an exhaust valve?

"It is possible, but then you would have likely noticed hydrolock when attempting to start the engine.
