"Standing behind the motor, look on the right hand side of the leg right up near the bracket that hooks it onto the boat.

If that is gone, there is a welsh plug (small silver disk the size of a quarter) somewhere on the engine itself (usually towards the back - spark plug end of things - on the waterjacket surrounding the cylinders).

If it's a 1993 model, I would expect your serial to start 0D18..... thru 0D27..... if US built or 974.... if it's a Belgian model."
