The model number on my Evinrude 4 hp doesn't jive with any on this site. Any help would be appreciated.

I notice you've started at least three different posts. Pick one and stick with it until the problem is solved, whatever it is.

The first "C" simply means it was made in Canada, so ignore that. The last "B" inentifies any mid-year changes--IF there were any. So ignore that also. What is left is E4BRCO----a 1985 model. Are you in Canada or Europe? "BR" means made for the Eupopean market. Probably has lighting coils ???

I've been told that BR means European rope start, I bought a new recoil spring for the pull start from my local dealership and it seems way too big
