Model Number 70879C not recognised

I have been hunting around for control box parts for an Evinrude or Johnson 70 HP outboard on several websites, but the model number 70879C is not recognised and the control box I have is slightly different from the diagrams I see. It has a horizontal Trim switch. I am unsure of the years, but it appears to be about 1978/1979 or thereabouts.
 
Any pictures of model # and control box?----What part numbers are you looking for ?-----Any control box with the big red plug will work.
 
I don't know which part numbers I am looking for, because I am unable to work out what to look up.
A picture of the model number will add no more information. The model number is clearly 70879C. Even a year of manufacture would help.
 
That has been my guess, but unfortunately the parts pages I have looked at don't have any control box diagrams. 1977 does but it is slightly different from mine and 1980 is completely different.

Also, I don't see any Evinrude specific branding on the motor, just Johnson, but the Johnson model numbers are mostly alphabetic characters.

Nothing fits.
 
Did you find the accessories pages for 1978 , yes , no or no idea ?------Or bring it all over to a trusted shop.----They can likely sort it out in minutes.-----I think I should step aside.
 
I can find a diagram for a 1978 control box, but while similar it is not the same as there is a horizontally mounted trim switch on my control lever that isn't shown on the diagram.

Is there an explanation for the unlisted Model No somewhere. I would prefer to be ordering something I know will do the job instead of hoping.
