"Hi all.rebuilt my 1991 mercru

"Hi all.rebuilt my 1991 mercruiser 502 everything good except running rich. its not a choke problem as its been removed. plugs realy black and using loads of fuel. its a rochester quadrajet, just wondered if the mixture screws would rectify this or are they just for idle setting. is it possible it needs a rebuild, if so best place to get a kit from in America. thanks Ged."

I'd start with a new float, inlet needle and seat."

"Ged - I saw the NLA, too. Not surprising as GM doesn't support them except for stock on hand. I'd try cliffshighperformance.com - his kits are very complete (& with ethanol tolerant 'soft parts') but I'm sure he'd get you the individual parts if that's all that's needed."
