Mixing carbs and injection?

So the STB 4.3 engine with TBI's in the twin setup is shot. I believe it has a bent rod in the least as well as the TBI throttle plates are corroded/sludged to the point I have to disconnect throttle cable and lever plates open/close. So Ive been looking at engines to drop in and for the most part, anything economical with either reman or new block have carbs on them at the same HP as the TBI engines(220hp). I'm considering that, but I'm not sure if that setup will cause any problems. Anyone heard of doing a carb and injected engine ? Any problems I need to be aware of?

Ayuh,.... That kinda defies the term Twins don't it,....

I'd fix the problems with the efi, 'n put it on a new long block motor,....
 
While the RATED Hp may be the same, its not likely that the engine torque curves are the same. If you were replacing a single engined boat's TBI with a carbed version you would not likely see the difference, but with twins!!.... do what bondo sed.
