I have beed through hell and b

I have beed through hell and back with this motor did the carb and now there is a mis at high speed med speed and just above idol speed it Idols great one day then like dog crap the next check out the vid of it

"have you done any service work to the engine? what is the hp/year? is it coughing back through the carbs or out the exhaust. stop killing that engine by running it with a known problem.

ok its a 1977 merc 115HP 1150

ok its a 1977 merc 115HP 1150 the problem was the carbs...... so I cleaned them 2 of them had completely cloged high speed jets & 1 of them had a idol tube cloged took care of that then there was a Idoling problem but saw the bottom carb leaking it was a problem leaking gas out of the JET BOWL VENT then I found it was because the needle was sticking in the seat so I fixed that and it idoled great but had this weird miss most people are saying its a fuel issue what is the deal...... "Anthony, if you can grab a timing light and a buddy to help out, I would check and see if the miss is the result of a loss of spark.

Takes a bit of playing around to work through all the cylinders with the motor running but can be done.

Have you inspected the distributor cap and rotor? No sense going through the whole fuel system (again) only to find that all the contacts are burnt on the cap...."

"If it pops through the carb its running lean(plugged jet) or its got a bad reed valve. If it pops through the exhaust its a electrical miss.
To check for a flooding float pump the bulb and look down each carb, any fuel coming out is bad. To compare cylinders look down each carb while under way to see if fuel is coming out venturi equally. You will need help. Warning, running with a fuel issue or lack of fuel means lack of oil."

I will check for stuck float or leaking carb then I will look at cap an rotor what am I looking for on the cap and rotor just burnt areas and anything I need to know about taking off the cap? Thank you

"yes look for burnt areas and carbon tracking, look at the rotor also. I don't think you have a stuck float, I was just telling you how to check someone elses suggestion. Run it with the cowl off, tell us if it spits through the carb or exhaust. Put the timing light on each plug. Put your hand over each carb at idle to see if they all suck/draw air."
