Hi everyone. Really frustrated here. I bought a new Minn Kota motor almost 2 years ago. Still under warranty. Recently, When I engage my throttle, sometimes the propeller turns, sometimes not. Once it starts, it stays moving but sometimes when I go to neutral, it shows power/turning but it is not. I have to raise or lower the motor and or turn the key on and off several times to get it engaged again. It's a real pain in the butt!
I took it to one of only 2 authorized repair dealers hear in South Fla. He had it for 5 weeks. He was unable to duplicate the fault in his shop. He took the lower unit apart and said is was dry and looked good. He then replace a capacitor thinking that might be the problem.
Brought the motor home and put it back on the boat. No luck. Still getting intermittent propeller stoppage.
I called Minn Kota tech support. They sent him a new controll board. He put that in. No luck. Still malfunctioning. Called Minn Kota again.
They said my motor likes 12. 5 V to run correctly. My 4 DC batteries all read 12v or more. I took them to get them checked under load. They all stayed steady at 11.7 v under load. Since they were over 2 years old, I bought all new 12v DC batteries and put them in anyway. No luck. AHHHHH!!!!!
I replaced my throttle control and communication cable with new ones.... No Luck!!
I have looked at my wiring on the boat and it all looks solid. I can't find a short or bad looking connection any where.
Does anyone have any Ideas??? I sure could use some help!
Thank you ahead of time....
