milky oil in leg of 6 hp 1992 merc

Just changed oil in leg and found it very milky,should I take any action ?
Could it cause problems down the track ?

Yes.
If the oil is café au lait you have a blown seal.It could be as easy as the seals on the oil fill and vent screws not been replaced last oil change or a prop seal
