Made appearantly for military thus the strange model number. Long shaft 40hp pull start. Was trying to look it up but have to compare it to 70’s similar models. Has spark and about wore shoulder out just trying to check compression which I got up to 110. Feels like more. Has broken piece on casting where tiller tilts. Guess I would have to replace whole steering bracket to repair??Hate to do it that way. Nothing to mount it to to try and start it. Anyone see this type before?Is pee tube in normal position or an add on?
 
Try comparing to an 84 model 40 HP.----One of the W models.-----With the W being for commercial models.----They list these AM models ( military ) for the 1983 to 1987 production years !!!

Looks like the 83 model..thanks Racer for the help.Was off alittle for sure on the years and missed that one when I first looked.There Ql77JC4 plugs in it.Parts show a few different ones.QL16V or UL81C or L78V.Which ones should I use.?
