Continuous Engine alarms
Ov

Continuous Engine alarms
Overheat Engine Guardian System is activated.
Power limit will vary with
level of overheat. Stop engine and
check water intake for obstruction.
Advancing throttle above idle may provide additional cooling.
Low Oil Pressure Guardian System is activated. Engine power is limited to 10% of maximum.
Stop engine and check
oil level. Add oil if necessary. Check for gas in the oil also this will change oil thickness and drop the oil pressure
Battery Voltage
Less Than 10v or More Than 16v Engine Guardian System is activated.
Engine power is limited to
75% of maximum.
Coolant Sensor Failure Engine Guardian System is activated.
Engine power is limited to 50% of maximum. Engine overheat protection is compromised.

thanks for the info hamit the

thanks for the info hamit the only thing i havent tried there is changing the oil but i was assured by a mechanic friend the oil was ok i will drain and fit new oil filter ill let you know how it goes

ive tried everything now and m

ive tried everything now and my head is really done in dont know what else it could be! i started it in a barrel of water and noticed when it started beeping the water seperating fuel filter wasnt refilling when i primed it the beeping stopped but afterwards i started it again and it started to beep while it was fully primed by now the water in the barrel was quite warm could this set off the beep?

"yes it would in high temp, Ha

"yes it would in high temp, Have you checked the voltage output? I had one drive me crazy and it was the voltage regulator was pumping out 16.9 volts."

these are what my book say can

these are what my book say can cause Continuous Engine alarms look above check them all. after reading your post again how warm is the water coming from the tell tail? and how long did you run your motor? A 40 hp should be only run on a hose with a muff to give enough water to cool the motor. One thing how old is your pump impeller?

"I have a 1989 50HP, 3 Cyl, Ma

"I have a 1989 50HP, 3 Cyl, Mariner OB that sounds the temperature alarm only at WOT. If I back off to 4000 RPM or less the alarm stops. So far, I've replaced the water impeller (repair kit, and the complete water pump)twice each. Replaced the temperature sensor. Replaced a warped plastic plate under the rubber seal to the exhaust tube near the water pump. This step increased piss stream dramatically but... Still can't solve the problem. Any thoughts as what's next?"
