Hello All!
New here, of course with a problem hoping someone out there can help! I have a 2006 verado 250 with lost communication issue at both the gauges. Station 1 gauges blinking lost comm. Speedo gauges blinking Mercury logo.
I have probed the entire wiring harness from engine all the way to back of gauges. 120ohms on the blue/whites wires at motor and at the back of gauges. Grounds are good/cleaned at the back of plugs on gauges. Cleaned ground bar, checked all plugs, disconnected all plugs in wiring harness and reconnected them. Both Batteries are 12.7 strong! I have probe 14 pin harness all check good. Cleaned all grounds on engine side. I don’t see any corrosion on the gauges/terminals/plugs anywhere.
Engine runs fine, starts every time!
I don’t think it’s in the harness as this has just started last weekend. At first it was sporadic, now it happens every time I turn the key….

No expert on this stuff, I have 2023 twin 250 verados and they have smart craft and use NEMA 2000 connections.

There is a guy on iBoats which has more knowledge MUC. If you do post there make sure to also post your serial number. The year of the motor doesn't help much

Assuming your 2006 motor only uses smartcraft. Check the termination resistor, should be one at the end for each motor

Yes, thanks for the reply… I fixed it yesterday, it was a little corrison on the power/ground plug at the junction box. At first, I checked the junction box itself and didn’t check the plug.turned out to be corrosion at the plug.
I just bought vessel view for my boat, do you know if it will connect to my garmins 94sv’s? If so what harness is needed?

Well took the boat out this past weekend and the problem is still ongoing. All the terminal resistors read 119.72 ohms at both ends. I’ve unplugged all connections and left them over night. Plugged all back together today and gauges still lost connection. I replaced the junction box also.Does the can 1 or can 2 wires communicate the signal from computer? Blue&white. Or brown&yellow
They both have term resistors at both ends.

Just guessing but there is most likely one wire connection which has the problem. Loose one connection, loose everything

I don't know anything that can be connected to advise where the issue is. Could be MUC can help but he's on iBoats

There are nema 2K scanners and my guess is there is something for smartcraft. Searching on the net it appears there are a few things but I don't know which ones would be better to use
