Mercury remote wires

hi i have a 50 hp 2 stroke 4 c

hi i have a 50 hp 2 stroke 4 cylinder mercury out board (bluestripe) this is my first boat and first outboard. i am having a bit of trouble sussing where the wires connect to for the remote can any one help it has 3 wires. (its a pull start) thanks

"is this a tiller engine, can you tell us the color of wires coming out. Does it have power trim, electric start? It should have a harness on the right side cowl(70's to early 80) or a slot in the front right for a harness (80's and up), just a guess the harness should have 7 or 9 pins.
