mercury question!!

hi all just a quick question if i may! i have a 50 and a 60 hp mercury 3 cylinder 2 stroke engines! both of these have a A5 stamped near the freeze plug on the engine block, any idea what this means!? ta

also would my carbs of the 50 run the 60??? they are wme 9

If the carbs look exactly the same and bolt up,then i would say yes,although you might have to change the jets.
