Mercury mark 10

I recently purchased a boat and it came with an old mercury kiekhaefer mark 10.. I am trying to figure out the exact year and hp.. The serial number is 1066409.. Any help would be appreciated!

That is a ten horse gem hopefully it has been well taken care of? See if you can pull the prop if not the gearbox is the usual cause to condemn these motors due to price and availability of parts even if you can even take it apart to seal the gearbox.

As of last summer the motor was running fine.. Then about a month before I bought the motor/boat he was having issues with the impeller so he stopped using it.. I bought it during the fall and just stored it with plans of fixing it this spring.. It seems to be in good shape and cosmetically doesn't look to bad either..
 
Yeah from what I've found researching it seems it's going to be more of a pain in the ass then it's worth.. Any idea what they go for?
 
I am mechanically inclined but have little experience with outboard motors.. I figure I can just tear into it and see how it looks.. I saw it running before I bought it but it was clear the impeller wasnt working.. And if it's not worth it ill probably just try and sell it.. Thanks a lot for all the info!
