Mercury Ignition Switch

I am currently working on replacing the ignition switch in my 1981 90hp Merc. The OEM ignition switch has six terminals labeled B-S-M-M-A-C. The new aftermarket switch does not have the "A" terminal but instead has an "I" terminal. I am confused as to whether or not the "I" and "A" circuits are interchangeable. Should I connect the purple wires that were connected to the old "A" terminal to the "I" terminal on the new switch?
