I have a 97 mercury force 120 with very low hours.that runs fine when cold but stalls whenever it's warmed up at idle or low speed which is annoying as all heck when loading at crowded docks. I just took it in and had carbs redone and adjusted gas checked etc. Compression is 1-140, 2-150, 3-160, and 4-140. The techs said they had to increase the idle to get it to run without stalling but made it tough to shift. Would putting a hotter plug in help and if so what is suggested.? I hear that these engine are natorious for this.
