I struggle with my Mercury EFI 100 (2012, Belgium) for over 1 year now and no idea how to fix it. Problem is that from the time to time it beeps 6 times before engine start and as a result of the fault the engine starts and stalls immediately. Require 2 3 attempts to start and then work as should until the next start. When this happens then it continues for the entire day, Next day, or a couple of weeks problem not occurs. It was quite frequent last spring, then I delivered the boat to a local dealer and of course, that day all worked fine. They could not find any fault codes in memory. They charged me for a 1hour diagnostic for nothing and gave me a MAP sensor for a test when problem reapers (just guessing this might be a problem). When this happened again I changed the sensor and still the same problem. Changed back to original. The next day all fine again. So, I bought Vessel View Mobile module and connected it to the engine in order to read the fault code in the time it appears. For almost a year problem was not existing after installation!
This winter/spring it happened again twice. This time I was prepared with a multimeter but can't find anything. The fault code is "Manifold pressure using time sampling. The input circuit for the sensor is above the valid limit. Manifold pressure sensor is not working properly".
I measured continuity between sensor connector and ECU - all 3 wires fine. There is 5V and ground to the sensor. When the kye is in ON position (engine off) there is also 5V on the output wire. It is kind of weird that there is almost the same voltage on the signal wire as on input wire but when the engine started the voltage on the output wire is approx. 1,3V while accelerating it increases to above 3V. So to my knowledge MAP is working properly (this also was earlier checked by MAP replacement). I bet it will work fine tomorrow... So annoying...
Any ideas?
