" Have a 1978 Merc 150 hp, replaced waterpump, installed pressure gauge as per dealer recomendation (tapped into tell tale) and the gauge is only reading 5lbs at 4000 rpm. Motor is not overheating, I can touch the block and it is only warm not hot. Any ideas?? Originally changed waterpump because water was not spitting out at idle, but now it is almost a steady stream at idle. "

I have an 1985 Mercury 115/ I can not seem to add the correct amount of oil.I was told that the mix ratio is 50:1 .Can some one please tell me the correct amount to add to this 2 stroke six cylinder engine/28 galon tank.

The pressure gauge should be tapped into the block. There should be a location on the top of the block for this. I have a 79 175 with this on the top of the V6. Look for it. Your pressure should be a min 10-12 at idle.
Good luck and have fun on the water.
Matt;
The proper ratio is 50:1. Go to you local marine parts store and get a oil mixture bottle. The bottle has ratio markings on it to help you add the correct amount of oil. I bought mine at the local West Marine.
Good luck and have fun on the Water
