Mercury 90CT Leaking From Flush Fitting

I have a 90CT that just developed a leak the other day. When the motor is running water sprays out of the weep hole in the flush fitting cap. Searching the internet, I see cases of the Verados doing this and the culprit is a tee in the flush/cooling line however when I take my cowling off I do not see the same fitting. Could it be the same issue but the fitting looks different? Do I need to replace the fitting? Or can I just clean it out? Hoping to be able to fix this myself instead of taking it in for warranty service. TYIA
