"I have a Mercury 6HP, 4 strok

"I have a Mercury 6HP, 4 stroke it is about 5 years old, runs great never any problems as I have it swerviced and winterised profesionaly evry year and it has probably only done 15 hours, today, I started it and no cooling water coming out, this may have been my fault as I inadvertantly put it in forward gear at higher revs than I should have, could this have broken the water pump, or, I assume the impeller may have broken but not sure.
I do not have a service manual for this engine as there does not seem to be one available yet, so can any body help me please and tell me where is the impeller housing and pump for me to get at and investigate, what should I look for and also what should I be careful of.

"Hi Ian,the water pump is located in the lower gearcase.ull have to take the gearbox off to gain access.not difficult.just be careful disengaging the gearshift rod,note where things went,the waterpump is at the bottom of the driveshaft,usually 4 bolts,under the housing is the impellor,dont lose the key.get a kit.and a manual.good luck 10.18 mon"
