Hello! First off all, sorry for my english..
So, i have a pretty annoing problem.. I have a Mercury 60HK EFI from 2006.
I have problems with the gears, the cables are new, control unit is new.. and when i disconnect the cables from the engine, it works fine.
But, if i connect the gear shifter, it's so hard to get reverse gear in.. and on the cylinder wall where the "racket" goes, it have worn out some metal, so something is not right..
I have remove the gear housing but everything seems fine, the dog clutch goes nice, spring seems to be fine.. but it's just impossible to get the gear in place. And yes, i have tried it in water, i almost crash in the dock becouse i could't get revese gear in..
Have someone had this problem before? Im stuck.. i don't know where to start searching for problems..
