i have mercury mod 50 1984 4cy

i have mercury mod 50 1984 4cyl that im going to put new head gasket on does it have more than one gasket. also need tork specs for the bolts is it in mm or footpounds or footincs.i also have a black wire with a yellow stripe on it can some one tell me what its for it has fire to it it isgust hanging ther the last shop must have not hooked it back up?thanks jimmy

How did you know you needed a new head gasket? I have water coming out the #1 plug on my 1983 Mariner 50 HP. Thanks
