Any advice would be appreciated. The only problem I have identified is the little primer bulb on the motor, (not the one on the fuel hose). It doesn't seem to be working at all. When pushed in repeatedly, it never gets firm or builds any resistance. Like its not drawing fuel at all. There doesn't seem to be anything on the internet about this specific problem. Everything is about the big primer on the fuel hose. Thanks!

I do not believe it goes firm or needs to go firm !!------What is your motor doing / not doing ?---Year / serial # of your motor ?

Thanks for the reply. I know nothing about motor repair.

But I seem to remember that usually when you push that primer a few times you start to feel a little resistance and you can feel some fuel in there. I just took the cover off and noticed a tiny crack on one of the little rubber hoses that attaches to the back of the primer. It's so small that you can't even see it unless you wiggle the rubber a little bit. I wouldn't think that would be enough to render it ineffective. I have confirmed that the big primer on the fuel hose is getting fuel to the motor.

It's just not turning over or even trying to at all. Pull after pull after pull. I believe the year is '06 and serial #1B182578.

Simple test to do.----Remove sparkplugs.-------Put a wee bit of fuel into each plug hole.-------Install plugs and wires.------Pull the recoil cord a few times.-----Do you get a hint of engine wanting to start , yes or no ?----I do not believe that primer bulb needs to go hard.

Explain to me what this test will determine please if you don't mind. Remember, I'm ignorant.

It will prove that the issue is in the fuel delivery system.-----Or maybe I should just step aside here.------Call your local Mercury dealer and ask them how that wee primer bubble works.
