Hi,
This is my first post! I recently purchased a small center console with a
40hp 2002 4 stroke mercury 3 [COLOR=#F3933B !important]cylinder[/COLOR], model: 40ELPTEFI [COLOR=#F3933B !important]serial number[/COLOR]: 0T538502 ...
I need to remove the lower unit... I have removed the 4 bolts and 1 nut but i cannot figure out [COLOR=#F3933B !important]how to remove[/COLOR] shift linkage, it looks like has to be disconnected at the power head. Currently the lower unit drops about a inch and then stops because of the shift linkage. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
