Mercury 350 help

Several years ago my son picked up a Mercury 350 (35hp) and it has been in storage ever since then. Never used by him. We don't have an Operator's manual and I can't even figure out how to remove the cover. I also have no idea what year it is. The only serial number I have found is 2258146. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Looks to be a 1967 model.--------------Is there a button to push under the recoil handle in order to remove the cowling?

WOW! About 47 years old. Yes, there is a button for removing the front plate exposing the release clamps for the wraparound cowling. Thanks a bunch.

It will need a new water pump impeller before you start it up !!
