Mercury 35 hp choke lever

New member
New engine to me and can’t figure out the choke knob, but thinking his is an easy one: what position is the manual choke on and what position is it off? The little knob/lever on the front twists to face left and right.

It's more of a primer knob. You pull it out for prime. It twists right for fast idle. And left for normal idle. You can push it In while is in fast idle, when you don't need the primer on.

Hello, i have the same question and the knob only turns left or right. It can't be pulled in or out. I have a 35 electric start.

Wondering which way is choke on the manual choke.on the motor itself, left or right.
 
It sure seems to me that it works best to the left and I just use the Chike in the key. It looks like it closes off the air intake some to move it to the right. When I turn it to the right which the engine running, it dies.
i just leave it to the left now and all is well.
