Mercury 25xd

I have a 1984-1988 Mercury 25xd motor that keeps flooding when I squeeze the primer bulb. Once it floods it won't start of course but after about 3 hours it will start every time you hit the start switch. I have rebuilt the carburetor and made sure the there was a new needle put in. Also, the primer bulb never gets hard.

Check the float.-----Maybe it is cracked and not floating.

Thanks racerone. I put it in a sonic cleaner when I rebuilt the carburetor and it floated fine but it may have issues when in gas instead of water. I have ordered a new one.
