Mercury 25hp Tilt Pin Removal

Good afternoon, I've almost finished redoing an old aluminum boat and when I went to put my 25hp Mercury on the boat, the U-bolts needed to tie on the transom are in the way of what I believe to be the tilt pin. I put a socket to it to move it up a few notches, which I had planned on doing anyway and it crumbled off and is corroded in there. Before I grind this thing off and drill it out, I just wanted to make sure that this was the original tilt pin and not something that would compromise the integrity of the motor. Pics below, sorry if it shows up sideways.

The holes in the clamp bracket are for the tilt pin, you put it in the hole that gives you the best performance; that other rod holds the clamp assembly together. You need a tilt pin don't run it without one.

So that clamp assembly is corroded so much that the nuts on both sides came off. Should I order a new assembly and just figure out what to do with the u-bolt nuts on the transom?

thanks again for a quick response.
