Mercury 25hp - Tilottson BC1 replacing (WMC1)

I have 2 M25 2 stroke...one is 1984, belgium engine sn 936.... working Ok (just now upper bearing is squirking

) and one 25XD 1986, sn 937.... ... for parts because lower unit is broken....
Well my questions are...

Which parts can be used between each other?
25xd is equiped with WMC carburetor, on M25 I have Tilottson BC1..can Tilottson be replaced by WMC because of replacement parts and what do I need for that?

My plan is, if it can be achieved, to combine the two engines, the lower part of the M25 and a engine to be of the 25XD.

The Walbro will work fine on the model originally equipped with the Tillotson (now so discontinued that you can't even get a complete kit for them), BUT it's not a direct swap. The mounts were different.

So, if you retrofit a new mounting plate it will work.

I have seen it done with the new plate made to go on the existing mount similar to a spacer plate on a carb upgrade on a car (well "vintage" car now) with a gasket on either side (so one between the existing mount and the plate, and then the regular carb gasket between the plate and the carb).
