mercury 25 wiring diagram

Hello,

Does anybody on here happen to have or know where i can find an online electric/ignition wiring diagram for a 1991 mercury 25 with manual start? I have a manual but it is for 94 and above and there are a few differences between them.

Reason being my motor was not getting fire so i took it to a local mechanic and after several months of the run around i just lost any trust i had in them fixing it correctly so i just picked it up. The worst part is the switchbox, rectifier, and solenoid were all just laying in a box completely disconnected.... After a few hours of irritation i believe i reattached everything correctly except the yellow wire running from the solenoid to the starter. However i do not have a starter and im not sure if it needs to be grounded or what. Would also like to generally check everything else to make sure it is straight so i can start over at the correct wiring but no spark issue i was having pre mechanic screwing...

Thank you

I have the diagrams in "paper" format, but can scan one in, just want to make sure exactly what model you have here.

Is it a tiller model with the electric start "removed" or a remote model OR was it a manual tiller that someone made electric at some point???

Basically, if you don't have the starter (but everything else is still there), simply omit the yellow wire completely (that would feed the starter from the solenoid), and you can continue to use the solenoid as a block terminal.

The yellow becomes the "hot feed" to power the starter. Absolutely, do not ground it - if you don't need it, take it away and don't worry about it.

thank you, that would be great.

It is a tiller handle motor that never had electric start on it. I have all the hardware to make it electric start and am going to complete that job as soon as i get it back up and running.

Ok, got them scanned in - one for the manual/tiller and one for electric start/tiller. If I try and compress them you lose too much detail. So if you fire me an email at [email protected] I will send them to you that way. May take a couple minutes for me to load them up, I live in the "boonies" and only have dial up :)

Wiring diagrams can be found on line , try searching for them or post your ------e-mail -----and can send the link.

Sorry about that, must be the only person who can't find a link to start a new thread.

+ engine is a mariner 40 about 1987. No plug in harness (been cut off) .just wires. Need to wire up remote controls. Been wripped off buying two useless manuals, not even giving even similar cabling.
