mercury 25 hp XD

My 25 hp mercury has a broken shift link. It has a plastic ball end and they are no longer available anywhere. Any body have a fix for this. Part # 193852 they are obsolete. Make my own from other linkage parts???????????

It's about 7 inches long with the plastic end on it.

No threads on broken end the plastic ball socket was pressed on.

I ordered the ball socket on the end and I'm pretty sure I can fix it with that. Thanks for your response.
