I have a sugar sand tango With a mercury 210 jet.
Last year I had it at the mechanics twice. Misdiagnosed and they ended up messing with my carburetor. They charge me a bunch to rebuild it but didn't change any fuel filter like I requested. They had Jets in the wrong spot and didn't clean them very well. It never ran right so I studied up and rebuilt the carburetors myself. Replaced fuel filter and the hoses that they tore. After that it ran great even took it to Florida and out in the gulf. I winterized properly per the manual rinsing it thoroughly having been in salt water. I siphoned the fuel tank completely empty before winterising so I would get all particles out.
Last weekend when I got it out I started it in the river it was tough to start and smoked a lot kind of like normal. It idles fine but when put under load begins to surge more with more load and speed. I am not with the boat now but going to try to fix it this weekend. Looking for ideas as to what I should check first. I made a YouTube video with the audio so maybe somebody would know. Suggestions I have had are petroleum fouled Soft fuel line or antisiphon valve,plugged carb jets and fouled spark plug.
