Mercury 2006 9.9 4 stroke not starting.

Evenrude mercury 9.9 would not stay started so i pulled the filter, fuel pump and carb. Blew out all hoses links and carb cleaned everything. The motor started first pull in a barrel and I ran it for 1 hour. Alternating throttling and idling for 10 minute intervals. Then I only towed it 45 minutes to the lake where it would not start at all now. Plugs are firing with correct gap as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Were the plugs wet or dry when you pulled them out?

Dry as a bone and clean too. Im going to change them anyways tomorrow and try again because nothing is working.

Check the low speed jet in the carb. It's plugged I'm sure. Did you change the fuel filter?

That must have been it mechanicman it's purring like a kitten now in the bucket we'll see how it goes when I get to the lake. One additional question please, is it a fuel filter issue if it stalls while idling?

Yes and no. It's good practice to change the fuel filter after you clean the carb. If the filter was plugged. It would cause a no or little fuel issue
