Mercury 18XD (mid 80s?) leaking fuel from carb

Does anyone know why my carb would be leaking fuel from the vent in this photo? I believe it is some sort of vent in the fuel pump cover. I purchased it used last year and was just getting it ready to use and noticed there was continuous sputtering of fuel from this little vent hole in the side of the carb.

I figured that would be what I need to do. It sounds like its probably the fuel pump diaphragm gone bad. Just ordered a kit, so hopefully it works!
 
Update: I purchased a carb rebuild kit and now it works. I believe my motor is a 1985, and somewhere after that there was an additional plastic part added to the fuel pump on this carb (mine doesn't have it). Since the rebuild kit came with more gaskets than I needed for my specific carb I looked up the parts diagram for the model year and it appears the person I bought it from only had the diaphragm on the fuel pump and not the additional gasket that was supposed to go there. Fires right up now!
