Hi would anyone out there in c

Hi would anyone out there in cyberspace possibly be able to tell me what year this engine I ihherited might be? The numbers I found under the top case are OG046133.Now I am assuming that the first to digits are numbers OG and not 0G.Thaks in advance for any help.Steve Lightning1958

"Hello Steve, it actually is a "zero" as in zero, G, numbers - that's the way Merc makes up their production numbers.

That makes it a 1997 model..."

Thanks for all the help.Being new to this world of outboard motors can you tell me that when I hook up the water muffs to engine and run it should I get a stream of water from the back of the lower unit like you see when motor is running in water? Thanks for all your help.After a clean up draing old fuel from filter lubing cables.Putting in a new set of plugs.The engine idles and runs like new.I just hope this works once its in the water.

Thanks for all your help!!!If I hook up a pair of water muffs to my Mercury 15 hp.Should I get water through the streamhole?All I seem to feel is air pressure.Thanks Steve Grammer
