Hello everyone. I am hoping for a bit of help to get started in the right direction.
i have a 1998 mercury 150 offshore.
it have only around 80 hours on it.
the problem I am having is setting the idle.
the motor will start as long as I give it some choke. / throttle . It cranks , tacks up to like 3,000
then slowly comes down to 1,000 then will just shout off.
i know I need to set the idle and trimming.
could someone please give me a starting point on the idle screw and timing screw. An idea of how far out they should be. ( Say 1/4 inch from the screw head )
thank you
