Ok I askd my dad what happend again n he said it all startd when he left the quick disconnect for cleaning the engine open.so he went for a ride n left the connectors open(the one that u connect the water hose at home)

When you changed the oil tank sensor did you replace the float? If it sinks in the oil then it is the problem.

Please provide more detailed info re the float.

How is the float in the oil tank suppose to work/act? Is it suppose to move up and down freely? The float on my 125 Johnson seems to be unmovable on the two brass rods. I am not sure what I am suppose to seeing here so may have it all wrong. Can somebody please describe in detail the functionality of this oil tank mechanism?

It should act like the float in a carburetor. Float drops/rises with the oil level. All the way down sets off the alarm.

guyjg,

Thanks for the reply. I am confused. Does the float ride on those two brass rods? If yes then the float on my pump is fixed on those rods and I can't seem to move it. Is there a diagram to view to help explain it? There doesn't seem to be a way to move the copper clips up and down.
