Mercury 115 2004 optimax stopped running

I was out on the water today running the boat and everything worked great. I am ready to come in and take off full blast. the boat planes out and all of a sudden a beeper starts and the boat kills the throttle. It started right back up and started going again and the same thing happened. thinking it was the oil I shut off the motor and used the kicker t get in. Go out and start the motor in the lift and it starts. I rev up the motor and the alarm starts beeping again. i turn off the motor and try to start again and the battery is dead? confused????

Is there a way to trouble shoot to see which it is?

Not really. You need the DDT code reader. Unless anyone here can enlighten us.
