"Motor has sat for several months -- now has no spark to either plug.

Discovered that the "kill" button is badly corroded and the wire from under the flywheel has a rub which exposes the conductor.
Is this a "break ground to kill" or a "make ground to kill" circuit?

Assuming I correct this circuit to "run" and I still have no spark .. any simple trouble shooting things I can try?

For some reason I always suspect spider nests, is this likely? Any tricks to pulling the flywheel?

thanks,"

"I don't know what type of ignition. But,here's the wiring from under the fly wheel: on the port side a green, an orange and a black; the green goes to the coil for the lower plug and then to the other coil; the black is from a ground on the timing advance housing to a ground on the motor; the orange goes to the "kill" button.
On the other side is a black and a white: the black goes to the other post of the coil for the bottom plug and the white goes to the coil for the top plug."

I think it is " break grou

I think it is " break ground " to kill.Or switch is pushed the circuit goes " open "

"you have 2 sets of points to look at and a stator needs to be inspected, the flywheel must be removed. Look here for parts, punch in your serial number
http://www.crowleymarine.com/parts.cfm

flywheel spins around stator, creates voltage, points open and close, 1 for each cyl, voltage goes to coil where it is stepped up, then to plug. Any break in the wires is a short to ground. Sounds like the stator is being shorted to ground"
