"I have a 1972 Mercury 110 9.8

"I have a 1972 Mercury 110 9.8hp engine. I am looking for a fuel pump repair kit. Where can I find? I have a type KB11A carb. The fuel pump is external. The only numbers I could find on it was 645412. All the kits I have researched do not exatcly look like my fuel pump. Any suggestions? Thanks, Larry

"Larry, you are looking for Merc part number 53245A1, sells for less than 5 bucks at any Merc dealer (although some may have to order it into stock, it is still very much available).

Here's a pic of the kit - looks like the right one to me - you be the judge...

"Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, this does look like the correct parts. How about the check valves and the little gasket that go under them. Do they come in the kit? Should they be replaced? If they aren't too expensive and available seems like the right thing to do.

"Thanks for your help. I purchased the part you referenced, the dealer had it in stock. Worked perfectly! I rebuilt the pump and carb and installed a fuel filter and I think it is going to work fine. At least I hope it runs as good on the water as it does in the trsh can. Thanks for your help.
