Hi,
I'm in the middle of doing an overhaul of a neglected motor I just purchased. In looking it over I came across a broken plastic bit underneath the flywheel. It appears to be spring loaded and maaaay be used to ensure flywheel doesn't turn in opposite direction as it should (maybe after pull starting?? I'm totally guessing).
What's the impact of not fixing this, does anyone know. Darned mercury charges a fair amount for little plastic bits!
Images are below. Part is called "Lever, follower" and it's listed under "Top Cowl and Starter Assy" category.
