Mercruiser Y pipe help

Hi I have a old 81 228 mercruiser with logs, and it is fitted with the 3 piece Y pipe, I'm looking at replacing them due to corrosion. Now is it possible to use the single piece Y pipe (3 or 4 inch) from a later model and use different rubber hoses from the risers

Nope, the bolt pattern on the transom assembly is different...

Bondo my had 5 bolts to mount I and this on is the same pattern with only the Allen headed one missing just wondering how it will meet the risers
