Mercruiser starter support backet 2000 5.0

Hi guys, when I replaced my start a while back (OEM). I did not install a support bracket. There was no bracket on the ols starter either. Should there be? Its the small starter with the two offset bolts. 0M012817
If there is , could you please advise me of the part number.

Only on the 3.0 ltr do you need the support bracket.

Too true! PO left it off my old boat and it broke a starter mounting bolt.
