Mercruiser shift cable interrupter switch repositioned

What do you think of this solution? I think it could work to solve the problem of the gear shift and engine stalling in a Mercruiser MPFI.

what problem are you trying to solve? on what drive setup?

the relocated switch doesn't behave like the original which only activates when required (going into neutral). without seeing the rest of the mod, its rather difficult to assess it further.

seen it before ,guessing your shift assist plunger has compromised the shift cable from the control box
to the shift plate

Why reinvent the wheel?
The original system worked as designed. If you are having issues, fix the problem don't mask it.
