"Hi, I just ordered a new fuel pump filter for my 1997 3.0 LX Mercruiser and received a paper element type filter. The old one was of a ceramic type material. The Seloc manual looks like (not sure, since it's not that clear in the book) I'm supposed to install the filter with the open end of the filter down. It makes sense to me that the open end of the filter should be UP. Can anybody help me? What happens if I install it upside down, will it cut out at high speeds? Thanks!"
