mercruiser bravo knock 1991 454

I have 91 searay that I just got. twin 454's with bravo's. port out drive has loud knock at all times in or out of gear. removed it and check gimbel bearing and u-joints they look fine any ideas ?

Did you test run the motor on a hose without the drive

just try it and there is no knock in motor
